Ali Maamar has signed his first professional contract with RSC Anderlecht. The 19-year-old right-back commits to Sporting until 2026. Ali will be an integral part of the squad of the RSCA Futures next season.
Technique, dedication and an impeccable mentality. That's how Sporting's youth coaches would describe Ali in a nutshell. The young Moroccan Belgian joined the RSCA Belfius Academy at the age of 6. A native of Brussels, bilingual and agile on the ball, Ali is the prototype of a Neerpede player.
This season, Ali played 10 games for RSCA Futures and got his first start against Francs Borains.
Academy Director Mikkel Hemmersam: “Ali has taken big steps in the past few years. He has been transformed into a right back, where he has showcased speed, intensity and good offensive impulses. Together with Ali, we’ll continue working on his defensive abilities as well in order to fulfill his true potential.”
Congratulations, Ali.
