After having put on hold for three seasons because of COVID, the Future Cup is now back. During the Easter weekend, AFC Ajax will once again organise the prestigious international youth tournament at De Toekomst. Besides the organising team, seven other international youth teams will enter the U17 tournament. RSC Anderlecht already participated in all editions of the tournament, and now defends its colours again during the Easter weekend from Saturday 8 to Monday 10 April.

RSCA managed to reach the final four times in the past 10 editions. Three times Sporting were overall winners of the tournament, winning each time against the organising team itself. That happened in 2011, 2013 and 2015 (photo). One time it lost the final on penalties against Arsenal, in 2016. Ajax (5x) and RSCA (3x) dominate the tournament's honours list, and with Dennis Praet, Nabil Jaadi and Anouar Ait El Hadj (pictured), Sporting also has three youth players listed as player of the tournament.
For this season's edition, Juventus, Chelsea FC, Paris Saint-Germain; CF Pachuca, Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Nordsjælland will travel to the Netherlands. The young Mauves play their first match of the tournament against the Danes of Nordsjælland, on Saturday at 11am. A meeting with PSG follows at 2pm. Sunday's final match of the group stage is scheduled against Chelsea FC at 10am. The knock-out matches, like the final, will be played on Monday. Finally, each match lasts twice 30 minutes.
The 2006 generation forms this season's U17 line-up. This includes Nassim Azaouzi, Kaïs Barry, Bouba Conte, Michiel Haentjens and Lilian Vergeylen amongst others. They were champions in their U16 series last year.
