Alonzo Engwanda will leave RSCA at the end of the season

RSCA Futures' captain Alonzo Engwanda will be leaving Sporting at the end of the season. After 14 years at the club, Alonzo has chosen a new challenge. RSC Anderlecht and Utrecht have reached an agreement on a transfer at the end of the season.

Alonzo began his adventure at Neerpede in 2010. He was part of a talented generation (including Zeno Debast, Mario Stroeykens, Roméo Lavia and Nils De Wilde), the midfielder has often been praised by youth coaches for his mentality and work ethic.

Last summer, he made his professional debut in the first game of the RSCA Futures in the Challenger Pro League against Deinze. A successful season followed, with a qualification for the Promotion Play-offs.

At the start of the 2023/24 season, Marink Reedijk promoted Alonzo as captain of the RSCA Futures. A role that he has fulfilled to perfection, taking the youngest players in the squad under his wing, including his younger brother Nunzio.

Alonzo will now finish the season with the RSCA Futures. With two main goals in mind: to stay in the Challenger Pro League, and to end up as the best U23 team.
