Gassimou Sylla has signed his first professional contract with RSC Anderlecht, tying him to Sporting until June 2026.
Gassimou is his first name, but the young striker prefers to be called simply Sylla. He was born in Guinea and moved to Brussels as a child. Sylla came to Neerpede in 2018 after spending a season at RSCA Heysel.
Thanks to his intelligent positional play and qualities in front of goal, Sylla is a versatile offensive player. Last season, he played for the U18s. Our fans already had the opportunity to see him at work during the last two Future Cups, especially during the U18 play-off matches.
Academy Director Mikkel Hemmersam: 'Sylla is a talented offensive player who can play multiple positions, either as a number 9, 7 or 11. He has an eye for goal and also shows a good work ethic. We are curious to see the steps he can make in the coming years.'
